Alright, for the few days I have been a member of Salty, I have noticed that many of you don't know how to pose properly(no offense), and end up with overposes, and some that aren't even poses at all. So please read this carefully. Dalimation(Dali) PoseNow, for a dali pose, your dog must be facing the right(as all poses) and must be facing the camera. The legs should be aligned so you only see 1 leg, and two paws. Here are some examples of Dali poses; Dane PoseThe dane pose is a profile pose for the dog. The dog's head faces forward, though they will still be looking at the camera with relaxed eyes. Here are examples of dane poses; Overposing Overposing is when the dog is too proud, and puffs out his chest too much, along with raising his head too high. Here is an example of an overpose; Just Not PosingI have also seen some dogz that just aren't even posing in the first place. So here are examples of what are not poses, though they might look like one to a beginner; ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well that's all for now since I'm lazy to write any details, but hopefully you guys will get the main idea of this. If you have any questions, feel free to post them here and I'll gladly answer them as thoroughly as I can. -Sibe

lol, don't feel bad. Everyone is a beginner at some point, plus, this isn't just for you. It bugs me to see people entering dogz that don't pose, but no one ever even tells them that it isn't a pose, instead they just don't place, so I made this. I have seen this a lot here, actually, not just with you. Mainly with Ferret though....*cough*

I've been talking to Ferret about the poses and I'm actually training one of her dogz at the moment to pose better. Her dogz are doing poses but they are not aligned so I offered to help her a lot =] But I can see where you're coming from. I don't mind slightly misaligned petz but if they are obviously unaligned I just have to mention it and do something =]

Could some one post some original breed poses? If that makes sense. I mean the PF Magic breeds, just to compare to some of my poses to see if I'm doing it right. I pose catz more than dogz, because it's easier haha. Thanks <3

Catz are a lot easier to align. But don't expect many original breedz to place well in today's show ring. Not against today's "hexed to show" breedz with angled legs and completely hexed bodies. They stand a minimal chance, unfortunately, though some rarely place.
Look over at RKC for a lot of good Catz poses. They know how to pose.

^ I can pose Catz. I don't know what you mean though, there are plenty of shows that disallow those types of "show" breeds. Nevermind though. :3
