Does anybody know where I can maybe get a list of agility matches or classes in the southern New Jersey area? Or even just know of any matches. My dog, Rex (we're training him in agility, well, trying, seeing as he has some attention and behavior issues sometimes ), is nowhere near ready, but I'd like to go see my first match, and maybe bring him so he can get used to dogs and people. I also would like to enter him in a class, seeing as neither of us have ever been in one, and I think he could use the experience (with training in front of other dogs and people, and a little extra help doesn't hurt), and I have some equipment, but not enough to build a really good course. And money will also be an issue, seeing as I don't have much of it or a steady income...so...sorry if I'm asking a lot...but any bit will help .

I bet if you looked up your dogs breed, then agility you'd find something, like, for example:
New Jersey-Agility-Border Collie
Or something like that.

No...he's a Pitbull...I was going to register him as a Staffie...but I never had the time to really get training like I wanted...and I just want to go see one...not compete yet.

Oh. Do you have county fairs? Where I live we do and we have a farm fair once a year and I go and compete in the agility with the my dogs. You could if there is a fair that has dog agility shows. They may not be as good as the professonails but it would probably be closer for you to go to.

If you're just wanting to look, AKC sanctioned agility matches/competitions aren't a bad idea. No, you can't compete Rex, since he is a Pitbull, but it is certainly a wonderful feeling just to watch the dogs do run throughs if you are planning on being a first time competitor. Freehold, NJ usually has a lot of action as far as agility goes. And maybe try with NADAC? Registering him there and getting a registration for yourself. The website is: www.nadac.com/

Yeah, NADAC is great. My whippet is registered there, I haven't competed yet. I hope he will become good enogh to win aginst Border Collies, but I don't think that will hapen.
