hmm- i think its more of the fact of how serious showing became. Like, most of the dogz and catz on the PKC forum don't even look like the orginal catz and dogz. i think it- kind of defeats the purpose, or something.

Yeah, I guess. Sometimes I'm in the mood for showing, but other times I'm just in the mood for hexing the nicest looking pet I can make. I agree. Not to mention, running your own active website is very time consuming. After a while your eyes start doing this

That would be cool, because it really looked like it was once nice.

*rant warning* ;D What bothers me about kennel clubs like PKC and DFA is the ridiculously strict standards. I mean, your dog has to pretty much be a first gen from the AC. And even hexed dogz can only look a certain way so there's not a whole lot of options, depending on what breed it is. Personally, I think the fun of petz is having unique looking petz. What's the fun of breeding or hexing if they all have to look a certain way? I've looked at the show rings, and for most of the breeds, all the dogs look pretty much alike. Take clumber spaniels for instance. The only way I could tell them apart was the different shownames they had. But if you breed clumbers, you can get lots of different colors and markings. So why not allow a clumber spaniel with say, a cream body and gray markings? Is it really that much fun to enter a show where your dog looks like everyone else's? I really think they should loosen up a bit on allowing dogz with different colorings or patterns in. They don't have to allow dogz that are pink/green or anything, but dogz that have mutated/hexed coat colors like grays/creams/browns/steel blues/etc. should be accepted even if they aren't usually seen on certain breeds. I know they want it to be like a real life kennel club, but really. Another thing that irritates me is not allowing a petz that where adopted from the AAC/PA/etc. in. They say downloading a pet is unrealistic. Well geez, that should also exclude any petz adopted from anybody else as sending a pet through e-mail is unrealistic, and the receiver still has to download them onto their computer. What about all the hexed breeds, those where downloaded so technically they shouldn't count either. The point being, of course, that petz are not real. It's a computer game, no matter how hard they pretend or how many rules they impose, they're pixels-not flesh and blood. Someone should start a petz kennel club that allows most petz as long as they don't have unatural colors. It'd be a lot more fun to have a large network of shows where one could enter their unique petz as opposed to having a bunch of dogz that look the same. Sorry, I've been wanting to rant about this for a while.

I read your first sentence and thought we should have a kennel club for *different dogs*...because, what I look for, and like to hex, are the different petz that catch your eye. So maybe this can be a project of some sorts...but right now it's a secret, so everyone forget they saw this!

Really, I can see in real life the showing, but in petz, they are just pixels.
